While my ultimate goal is to become an emergency department physician, I hope to do research involving drug design/synthesis and in vivo/vitro pharmacology as a secondary focus. Learning about basic medication mechanisms from a medical microbiology class and getting to see them in action from an independent Kirby-Bauer test during high school are what made me consider a career in the medical field. This interest in pharmaceuticals is also why I decided to major in biochemistry instead of just biology. I aim to make an impact to people's lives both directly as a physician and indirectly by developing and improving pharmaceuticals.
